Classic 1950's Franciscan "Oasis" Handled Round Serving Bowl. Made in Los Angeles California by Gladding McBean Company. Bowl is elliptical, and measures 8-1/2" long, 8-1/8" wide & 2-1/2" deep. Excellent Condition; no chips, no cracks, no stains & no flakes. Beautiful shiny glaze with bright vivid colors. Hallmarked on bottom.

Oasis was produced from 1954 to 1962. This pattern was designed by George James, utilizing the Eclipse shape, Oasis is a heavy weight dinnerware line. Elliptical in form, Oasis is decorated in a 1950s modern motif. It features light blue, gray and charcoal lines, fading squares and asterisks on a white speckled background. Available in fifty shapes, like its cousin Starburst, Oasis represents one of the best of the 1950s American dinnerware lines.
