Classic 1950's Vernonware "California Shadows" Salt & Pepper Shaker Set. Vernonware produced California Shadows from 1953 to 1955. It only came in two colors, Cocoa Brown and Antique Gray. The shape was San Marino. Shakers measure 2-1/4" diameter & is 3-3/8 tall. Excellent Condition; no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no stains. Beautiful shiny glaze finish. Original corks on bottom.
Vernon Ware produced California Shadows, in the San Marino shape, from 1953 to 1955. Marketing sales brochure describes California Shadows as a "Color Contrast in the Modern Manner - a unique, modern border in contrasting shades of Cocoa Brown on a tawny coral background, creates a subtle, different pattern for contemporary tables". California Shadows was produced in two colors, Cocoa Brown and Antique Gray.
